I've seen sliders all over Pinterest. I mean, you search sliders and a whole lotta yumminess comes up. The cheese, the ham, the chicken, etc.
But y'all know what I couldn't find? Roast Beef and Cheddar Sliders! Why not? A restaurant built it's legacy on beef and cheese, so why isn't there a tasty slider out there?
I decided to then search beef and cheese sliders, and ran across a lot of tasty looking French dip sliders, but that's not the flavors I wanted. Not to mention French Dip isn't very portable. You can't carry one of those little guys around in your hand. If you do, it's all drippy, and messy, and considering you need to dip it, you'll need both hands. Not the most ideal slider, in my honest opinion.
This is when I thought why not use my favorite slider topping, and do roast beef and cheddar. Y'all, they are amazing! They have been requested half a dozen times in two weeks.
The Roast Beef and Cheddar Sliders have something in common with their cousin, the ham and cheese sliders….the topping! You know that buttery, mustard, poppy seed topping? It's the exact same one for these guys! It's just the right flavors that make this roast beef and cheddar sliders perfection!
Help! I can't find Hawiaan Rolls.
I actually run across this problem a lot! Around certain big entertaining parts of the year, they can be hard to find. It's ok! I have used the Walmart brand slider buns, and they turn out just as tasty. It's really the meat, cheese, and that buttery topping that makes your mouth sing. Or look for these by Pepperidge Farm.
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes, but you have to bake them. Follow the recipe all the way through, allow to completely cool. Cover with foil and store in the fridge. Leave them covered and place in a 350 degree preheated oven. Heat for 10 to 15 minutes, and test for doneness, by slighting lifting one of the center buns.
Can I use any meat and cheese?
Sure! Of course they won't be roast beef and cheddar sliders anymore, but the meat and cheese combo is endless.

Ingredients
- 1 12 count package Hawaiian sweet rolls
- ¾ pound roast beef, thinly sliced
- ¾ pound extra sharp cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- ½ tablespoon poppy seeds
- 2 teaspoons minced dried onion
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9X13 inch baking pan with foil, and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Open the rolls from their package, slide out the tray, and slice them in half, where you have all their tops in one "sheet", and all their bottoms in one "sheet". Place the bottoms in their sheet like form in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer half of the roast beef on the rolls. Then layer all of the cheese. Top cheese with remaining half of roast beef. Top with the sheet of the tops. Set aside.
- Melt the butter in a small microwave safe bowl, about a minute. Whisk in the Worcestershire Sauce, mustard, poppy seeds, onion, salt, and pepper. Evenly pour this over the tops of the rolls. Cover with foil, and allow to rest (soak of the goodies!) for 10 minutes.
- Bake covered for 20 minutes, remove the foil, and bake for another 5 to 8 minutes. Slice into individual sliders, and serve!
