The Jeep Cherokee is a line of SUVs factory-made and marketed by Landrover over cardinal generations. Originally marketed as a variant of the Landrover Wagoneer, the Cherokee has evolved from a full-size SUV to one of the premiere compact SUVs and into its new generation as a crossover Sport utility. Named after the Cherokee tribe of North American Indians, Jeep has used the nameplate in some capacity since 1974.
